Summer Sun

"Not a Care in the World"

I don't know if you are as sick of winter as I am but I had to post these pictures from our Door County trip from last summer.... I love the one of the three boys (Zach, Nick and Tyler) walking along the beach. The memory of the sun in my face and the sand between my toes came flooding back to me.
The other picture is of Zach throwing rocks into the water, I have to wonder what he is thinking when he is doing it. He found a million shells and smooth rocks that day and made me bring them home in my pocket. Has he ever asked to see them again? No but I have them in a zip lock baggy I guess more for myself and the memory of him being a care free eleven year old little boy finding treasures from under his feet.
I remember the picnic lunch on the grass that day and the sun was so hot we even complained about it and had to find some relief under a shade tree to shelter our burning shoulders. I keep telling myself I am one day closer to sitting under the shade tree trying to find relief of the hot summer sun. I guess that is why we live in Wisconsin, to enjoy the seasons! But as of now I am DONE enjoying WINTER!!

It's Offical

Zach is officially a red belt in Karate!

The form was called "Toi-Gye" it consisted of 37 karate moves, he was picked to recite the meaning of this form to the whole class (which isn't easy) and did it very well! He also had two board breaks in this test, Back leg inside to outside ax break & jump front leg snap kick to break the boards, it took him a couple of tries to get the snap kick break but he never gave up.

After the testing was finished his Karate instructor presented him with a certificate of merit for doing such a wonderful job. He is one belt higher than Todd right now and that makes Zach giggle when he tells people. They are both on the right track to their black belts.

Garfield

Here's "GAR"

We found him alone and scared in the field behind our house one September afternoon. He was scared and couldn't even meow anymore. We took him in and of course we fell in love with the little fur ball!

I took him to the vet the following day and he weighed a WHOPPING eight ounces! The vet said he had damaged his vocal cord from meowing so much and wouldn't be much of a "talker" because of it. Well he was right Gar doesn't meow much at all.

This cat follows me around like a puppy! He has to know where I am at all times. The vet thinks he is part Ragamuffin (breed of cat) and that breed acts more like a dog than cat. I have never had a cat such as Garfield!

There you have it! THREE cats and yes we are CRAZY!!

Cat Crazy?

Hi, Here is a picture of Freckle's & Zoey! We had Freckles (white and gray) first, we saved her from being put down, she came from a very large batch of kittens that couldnt find homes.

She wasnt even 8 months old when I took her in to the vet to get fixed and they called me and said she was going to have kittens! WHAT, KITTENS?? I didnt want kittens!! About a month later she had her babies - five boys and one girl, it was the best experience for both Zach and I. The day care kids LOVED all the kittens and they all had their favorites. We managed to find homes for all of the boys. Zoey was here to stay, and Freckles loved having her around as you can tell in the picture. Next Came Garfield!

Great White Hunters

Here are pictures of my great white hunters during this last years hunting/fishing season!

Zach was fishing up North this past June and caught his FIRST HUGE fish ever! It is a CARP of some sort and to tell you the truth it's the ugliest fish I have ever seen.... BUT he caught it himself, without help from dad and he is so proud!!

Todd shot his FIRST Turkey this last Fall and he is now hooked on turkey hunting! He has the feathers all mounted on a board and it looks very pretty.

Shawn shot his FIRST whitetail BUCK this last November during riffle season... It is an 8 pointer and we are having it mounted for him... He has been hunting with a gun for 9 years and this is his first buck. He had the biggest buck on the pole this year and let me tell you that is bragging rights if you ask me!

I have friends that blog their life and I love peeking in on them from time to time, it is a fun way to share whats happening in your life with a lot of your friends and not have to worry about emailing them all or sending pictures to each and everyone of them.

I hope you enjoy stopping in and enjoying our stories.....

My Family

Here are "MY GUYS" all in ties! Can you believe I got them to wear them for Todd's nieces wedding? Aren't they handsome?

Shawn is 21 and is going to college at the UW Eau Claire WI. He is still undecided on what he is going to major in but he is enjoying college life. We are very proud of him and his accomplishments thous far in his young adult life.

Zach is 11 and in the 5th grade, he enjoys Xbox, playing youth football and is soon to be a RED belt in Karate... He is great kid and what a sense of humor this one has!

Todd and I will be together 19 years in February and enjoy our home and boys very much.... Todd coaches youth football and also takes Karate with Zach, he enjoys the time spent with him very much... Our family is growing way too fast and we need to really spend as much time with the boys as possible.
